“着服毕，他们由雪麒的自律侍者领着出了机场厅楼。极寒没有穿透面料和相场。天空深黑而澄澈，宛若巨大的黑洞悬吊正空。他们来到一条大路上，这路直直地延伸，一直延伸到前哨基地的大门，一直延伸到层层雪丘之上，一直延伸到视野消失的极远方……一杆莹亮的路牌守候在附近，指着双子身后，说再过两公里便是世界之门。
但他们不想回头去看巨门的所在，而是顺着指示的反方向极目眺去，仿佛这样就能在公路的尽头看见绿洲之城和等待着他们的未来。路灯沿着公路一路排至天边，宛若一条珍珠溪流，将沉黑的雪原劈作左右两半。"
