Solving the fourth quadratic equation, featuring Shadow and Silver

Show that 9x² - 12x + 4 = 0 has only one solution.

First method

9x² - 12x + 4 = 0

(3x - 2)² = 0

x = 2 / 3

 

Second method

9x² - 12x + 4 = 0

a = 9, b = -12 and c = 4

b² = 144

4ac = 144

b² = 4ac

-b / (2a) = 2 / 3
